Craft & Details

The Narrative

In the shadows of the world-tree, where the heat of Muspelheim meets the iron of the earth, a blade of true power is born. The Ember of Muspell is a 40.5-inch masterwork, hand-forged from Damascus folded steel—a process where our smiths hammer and fold the metal to purge impurities, creating a blade of relentless character. This ancient artistry produces a unique, rippling grain pattern that dances across the steel like the flickering tongues of a great fire. Fully functional and battle-ready, this Shinogi Zukuri blade features an integrated Bohi (blood groove) for lightning speed and the whistling song of a true warrior's strike. Whether for the rigors of cutting practice or the honor of the collection, this sword is forged for those who live by the Sovereign Standard.

The hilt (Tsuka) is wrapped in genuine ray skin and real navy silk, secured by twin bamboo Mekugi to ensure the blade never fails your grip in the heat of the fray. Every fitting, from the high-quality Japanese iron Tsuba to the hand-polished hardwood Saya, is crafted to command respect in any Mead Hall or armory. Accompanied by a protective black sword bag, The Ember of Muspell is the definitive choice for a gift to a Shield-Brother or a treasure for your own hoard.

The Care

To keep the rippling steel of The Ember of Muspell from the clutches of rust, you must treat it with the reverence of a king’s ransom. After every use or handling, the blade must be wiped clean with a soft cloth to remove the oils of the skin. We strictly forbid the touch of water; should the blade grow damp, dry it at once with a warrior's haste. Apply a light coat of protective Choji oil or mineral oil every few weeks to keep the Damascus pattern clear and the edge keen. Store your steel in a dry place, safely within its wooden Saya, so that its spirit remains untarnished until the horn sounds for battle.

Frequently asked questions

Why are your pieces made to order?

Because attention cannot be divided.

By creating each piece only when it is chosen,

we maintain full control over quality, detail, and outcome.

Production begins only after your order is placed, allowing us to focus entirely on the piece being created - without compromise.

How long does it take to make a piece?

Each piece requires time to be properly shaped, finished, and inspected.

Typical production time ranges from 14-21 working days, depending on the complexity of the design.

We do not rush this process.

Can I request customizations?

Yes. Select pieces may allow for subtle variations.

For more specific requests, you may contact us — and we will advise based on feasibility and integrity of the design.

How long does delivery take after production?

Once completed, delivery typically takes 14-20 business days, depending on your location.

Tracking details will be provided upon dispatch.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is calculated based on your location and the items in your order. You will always know the shipping price in the checkout page, before you purchase.

We offer Complimentary Shipping on all orders above $2,000.

What materials do you use?

We work with carefully selected materials — including high-carbon steels, layered structures, and natural components such as wood and leather (depends on product).

Each material is chosen not only for performance, but for how it evolves over time.

Are your pieces functional or decorative?

Our pieces are created with structural integrity, balance, and intention.

They are not mass-produced decorative items.

While often collected for their presence and craftsmanship,

they are also appreciated for how they feel in hand —

through movement, handling, and controlled settings where form and balance can be fully experienced.

What is the return policy?

As each piece is made specifically for its owner,

we do not accept returns for change of mind.

However, if there is a genuine issue by production, we will address it directly.

If your piece arrives damaged or does not meet our standards, we will take responsibility and make it right.

Our goal is for every customer to be totally satisfied with their purchase. If this isn't the case, let us know and we'll do our best to work with you to make it right.

Can I cancel my order?

Orders may be cancelled within 24 hours before production begins.

After that, the process is already in motion.
